Position Is King in PLO
In Hold'em, position is important. In PLO, it's EVERYTHING.
WHY POSITION IS 2-3x MORE VALUABLE IN PLO
In Hold'em, position is important. In PLO, it's EVERYTHING. Why? Pot-limit means you can't overbet OOP to compensate. The in-position player controls pot growth on every street.
With 4 cards per player, hand equities run much closer together. The player who acts last has a massive information advantage -- they see what opponents do before committing chips. OOP, you're guessing. IP, you're exploiting.
1. Button Is King
The BTN is the most profitable seat. You act last on every postflop street. Fight hard for it.
2. Avoid OOP Without Premiums
Playing OOP in PLO without a top-tier hand is lighting money on fire. Tighten up massively from the blinds.
3. Multiway = Need the Nuts
More players = more possible holdings = higher hand strength needed. In 5-way pots, only the nuts will do.
4. Table Selection > Card Selection
Choosing a soft table with good position beats playing premium hands at a tough table every single time.
