The Pot-Limit Raise Formula
Step by step: (1) Start with the current pot. (2) Add the amount you must call. That is the pot after your call. (3) Your max raise equals that new pot. (4) Your total bet = call + raise.
Example: Pot is $100, villain bets $60. Pot is now $160. You call $60 → pot becomes $220. Your max raise = $220. Total you put in = $60 + $220 = $280.
Stack-to-Pot Ratio (SPR)
| SPR | Commitment Level |
| < 2 | Committed with ANY pair |
| 2 – 4 | Committed with top pair + draw |
| 5 – 10 | Need strong hand (two pair+, big wrap) |
| 10+ | Need the nuts or close to it |
Pot Geometry
When you pot it every street, the pot triples each time.
$40 → $120 → $360 → $1,080
This is why PLO requires bigger bankrolls than No-Limit. A $40 preflop pot can become $1,080 by the river with pot-sized bets on every street.
