Hold'em vs PLO Draws
In Hold'em, the best draw is an open-ended straight + flush draw = 15 outs. That is the absolute ceiling. Most draws are 4-9 outs.
In PLO, a 20-card wrap has 20 straight outs ALONE. Add a flush draw = 27+ outs. This changes EVERYTHING about how you think about "draws."
A 20-out draw is a 70% FAVORITE against top set on the flop. This is why PLO players happily get it all in with "nothing made" -- their draws are monsters.
What is a Wrap?
A wrap is a straight draw where your hand cards wrap around the board cards, connecting from above AND below. Because you have 4 hole cards in PLO (vs. 2 in Hold'em), you can have many more cards that complete a straight.
The key: your 4 cards must WRAP AROUND the board cards, connecting from above AND below.
Wrap Types
Why This Matters at the Table
13 outs = ~52% vs top set (coin flip or slight favorite)
16 outs = ~60% vs top set (clear favorite)
20 outs = ~70% vs top set (massive favorite)
Add a flush draw on top and equity goes even higher. This is why you should never slow-play sets in PLO -- your opponent's "draw" might be a 70% favorite.
